The 9th edition of Pan African Music Fashion Runway, Nigeria’s influential fashion brand, is slated for Saturday, December 2nd, at the Naval Dockyard, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island Lagos, beginning at 7 pm.

Described as a cultural showcase platform, the event seamlessly blends contemporary Pan African designers, international runway models, and cutting-edge fashion with live music excellence. It stands as an annual celebration of Africa’s rich cultural heritage.

In its 9th year, this successful fashion and cultural platform continues to celebrate and showcase cultural heritage in Pan African fashion, design, arts, film, and media.

The theme, “Empowering The Creative/Corporate Mix To Align Infrastructural Development And Growth In Creative and Entertainment Sector,” sets the tone for this year’s edition.

Dr. Ngozi Omambala, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NMO Management Limited and Pan African Music Fashion Runway Platform, emphasizes the importance of empowering the corporate creative mix.

According to her, “We need to protect and create an infrastructure that protects the people within it. We need to upscale attract the investment to our sector. And we need some kind of like formalised standardisation to move it forward so that it can grow and grow properly.”

Reflecting on the evolution of the creative and entertainment sector into a force of nature, Omambala notes,

“Growth has been unprecedented, yet its infrastructure development lags behind, exposing weaknesses and vulnerabilities of young creatives seeking to carve out careers without support or protection.”

The event will feature international designers, cutting-edge African fashion, and international runway models, accompanied by awards presentations.

The Game Changer Africa 2023 Acknowledgement, an award platform honoring trailblazers and pioneers, will recognize their significant contributions to the creative industry.

Omambala highlights that the event will include live music performances and international runway modeling. Additionally, she mentions,

“The show will also select two upcoming models that would be allowed to kickstart their modeling career by walking the MFR 2023 catwalk.”
