The G37, a sociopolitical advocacy group aligned with the Renewed Hope vision, has issued a statement addressing the current state of the nation, with particular emphasis on security, economic concerns, and its continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In the statement signed by its President, Idris Umar-Farouq, and National Secretary, Prince John Aremu, the group acknowledged the growing public concerns about the country’s direction but insisted that Nigeria remains “in safe and competent hands.”
According to the G37, many of the challenges currently confronting the nation did not originate under the Tinubu administration, but are cumulative problems rooted in decades of structural distortions and institutional weaknesses.
The group noted, “The concerns Nigerians are raising are valid, and they reflect the deep passion citizens have for the survival and greatness of this country. But we must make it unequivocally clear that Nigeria is in safe, competent, and determined hands under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
On security, the G37 stated that while pockets of insurgency, banditry, and criminality continue to pose threats, the Federal Government has made significant strides in strengthening military response and intelligence coordination.
“We commend the President for his decisive steps—enhancing military operations, improving intelligence gathering, collaborating with local security structures, and investing in modern security infrastructure. These efforts are already yielding improvements in several regions”, the statement read further.
The group also cautioned politicians who it said are attempting to exploit the current situation for partisan advantage, describing such actions as unhealthy for national cohesion.
“Nigeria’s future is bigger than partisan desperation. This is not the time to sow fear or division, but a time to support a government that is laying the foundation for a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation.”
Calling for national unity, the group urged Nigerians, especially youths and community-level stakeholders to remain patient and supportive of the ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“True progress requires endurance, collective sacrifice, and unwavering belief in the leadership steering the ship of state. A better, safer, and more prosperous Nigeria is not just possible—it is already taking shape”, the group affirmed.
