The Kogi State Government has been deeply disturbed by the inhumane treatment inflicted on an 11-year-old boy, Friday Oshodi, by his family. The authorities have pledged to prosecute all those involved in the horrific act of burying the child alive.

Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, revealed this in a recent discussion with reporters. The ministry is actively working to place the young victim in an orphanage.

The commissioner shared that the ministry received information indicating that Friday Oshodi was subjected to severe maltreatment by his stepmother and brother. The government is determined to ensure that justice is served for this heinous crime.

She emphasized the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration to protect the rights and well-being of both boys and girls. She warned that any guardian found mistreating their wards would face the full force of the law.

Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba stated, “The victim, Friday Oshodi, is currently in our custody, while the main suspect, Goodness Oshodi, is in police custody. This is an unimaginable act of cruelty. How could someone bury their fellow human being alive?”

“The woman who ordered for the punishment of this young boy is currently at large. I am assuring the public that she will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.”

The incident took place in Silo community, Apamisede, Zango Daji, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State. Goodness Oshodi allegedly buried his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, as a form of punishment for stealing money.
