In a chilling incident that transpired on December 4th, 2023, Somadina Orji from Igboariam, Anambra State, admitted to the brutal murders of his hardworking mother, Mrs. Charity Orji, and his missing sister, Miss Ukamaka Orji.

The shocking events unfolded in Umuagu Inyi, Oji River Local Government area of Enugu State, where Somadina callously buried his victims in a shallow grave situated in their own backyard.

According to LIB, Somadina’s younger sister had been missing for weeks.

Then, Somadina had an issue with his younger brother and wanted to hit him but their mother stopped him and asked him to leave her house.

Not long after that, the mother, said to be a hardworking woman, was allegedly killed by her son and he buried her in a shallow grave in their compound.

When the younger son returned and didn’t find his mother, he raised alarm and villagers gathered and after interrogating Somadina, he confessed to killing his mother and sister.

A video circulating online captures the disturbing scene of Somadina digging out his mother’s fresh corpse. She had blood coming out of her ear after she was dug out and her corpse was still fresh.

Simultaneously, the sister’s corpse was also exhumed but had decomposed. Her bones were gathered with a blue plastic bag.

Villagers, deeply appalled by the heinous act, voiced their collective shock and abhorrence. They expressed a desire to see Somadina laid to rest in the same grave he dug for his family members, underscoring the tragic contrast between the hardworking mother and the son accused of drug addiction.

Prompted by the severity of the situation, law enforcement was summoned, and the remains of the mother and sister were carefully deposited at the mortuary.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Somadina Orji, has been detained, awaiting further legal proceedings as the community grapples with the aftermath of this disturbing double murder.
