Abbas Balarabe Lawal, one the three ministerial nominees selected by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has collapsed while explaining his profile at the Senate.

Balarabe, who was nominated by President Bola Tinubu to replace former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, collapsed shortly after introducing himself to the senators.

Balarabe had served as Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during El-Rufai’s tenure.

It was gathered that when the unfortunate scenario occurred, Senate President Godswill Akpabio was heard requesting water and sugar to revive the ministerial nominee.

“Water, water! Can you give him sugar and water? Can someone bring water and sugar? Please call Dr Wale!” Akpabio exclaimed.

Our source noted that Akpabio also ordered the cameramen leave the chamber as the senators tried to save the life of the ministerial nominee.

Senator Ishaku Abbo representing Adamawa North personally rushed him to the National Assembly Clinic to seek for medical attention but at of news time, his conditions were yet unknown.

In a letter addressed to Akpabio on Tuesday night, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requested confirmation for three new ministerial nominees. The nominees are Dr. Jamila Bio, Abbas, and Olawale Olawande. Tinubu emphasized the need for swift approval and confirmation of these nominees, a request conveyed during the Senate’s plenary session by Akpabio.
