The Kebbi State Government has extended its condolences to the immediate families, Yauri Emirate Council, and Yauri Local Government Area following a tragic boat accident involving 30 traders. Regrettably, 23 individuals are feared to have lost their lives.

This unfortunate incident occurred when a boat, carrying 30 traders and their merchandise, departed from Kasabo village on Monday en route to Yauri town for commercial purposes. While seven people were fortunate enough to be rescued, the search for the remaining 23 individuals is ongoing.

Dr. Nasir Idris, the State Governor, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the affected community through a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris. He urged the grieving families to accept this tragedy as the will of God and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed souls a place in Jannatul Firdaus.

Governor Idris also expressed his prayers for the swift recovery of the injured and hoped that such distressing events cease to occur in the future.
