A 23-year-old young man identified Dylan Thomas, and a supposed heir to a £230 million pie company fortune, has been charged with the murder of his best friend and housemate, William Bush.

The gruesome incident unfolded on Christmas Eve, leaving the community in shock and the families devastated.

William Bush, 23, was discovered with fatal injuries in a car park next to Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff around 11:30 am on December 24. Dylan Thomas, the grandson of Sir Gilbert Stanley Thomas, Welsh tycoon and founder of the renowned Peter’s Pies, is now at the center of a murder investigation.

The close friendship between Thomas and Bush, who attended the same private school, Cathedral School in Llandaff, took a tragic turn as the two later became housemates. They shared a terraced house owned by Thomas’ grandparents and Welsh rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards.

Thomas, reportedly a computer programmer and health food enthusiast, had been living in the house for two years with his black Labrador. William Bush, described as a surveyor working for a local commercial property firm, joined him later.

As news of William’s death spread, his family released a heart-wrenching statement, saying, “Our beloved Will was taken away from us in such a cruel and indescribable way. Will was such a loyal, funny, and caring son, brother, and boyfriend. We are absolutely devastated and as a family request that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Dylan Thomas is expected to appear in court next month after being remanded in custody. Originally scheduled for a court appearance on January 2, the hearing was postponed until February 2. Sir Stanley Thomas, Dylan’s grandfather, received a knighthood in 2006 for his significant contributions to the business world.
