There have been some comments regarding Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, senator representing Delta North senatorial district, expressing concerns about his level of engagement with constituents since taking office in the Senate.

While constructive criticism and accountability for our leaders are essential, it’s crucial to base our judgments on factual information. Senator Nwoko is among the few political representatives in Nigeria who entered politics not for personal gain, given his successful career as a businessman and legal practitioner.

Contrary to insinuations, Senator Nwoko has been tirelessly working in the Senate, actively pursuing motions, bills, and budgets to improve his constituency, Deltla North. Since his inauguration, he has consistently attended plenary sessions and meetings, demonstrating diligence in his senatorial duties.

The truth is, many, if not all, of the individuals who are making negative comments about Ned Nwoko, portraying him as inaccessible, are well aware of his remarkable work in the Senate and the substantial efforts he has put forth. These critical remarks are, unsurprisingly, coming from the mischievous opposition, whose primary goal is to discredit the positive impact of his work.

It’s been roughly four months since the 10th Senate was inaugurated, and in any event, Senator Nwoko has visited Delta State to connect with his constituents and provide updates on his efforts. He has purposefully pursued his top priorities including stopping gas flaring, addressing oil theft, combating environmental degradation, managing floods and erosions, enhancing education, promoting empowerment, and improving electricity supply at the Okpai power plant, among other issues.

It’s important to note that ministers and heads of federal agencies, responsible for implementing many constituency projects, have only recently been screened or confirmed, and some appointments are still pending. Senator Nwoko has compiled his constituency projects and submitted them for appropriation, actively pushing to ensure their inclusion in the budget. Once the budget is approved, these projects will cut across and benefit all nine local government areas within the senatorial district.

Solid planning and a strong foundation are essential for any meaningful development. Senator Ned Munir Nwoko is actively working and deserves commendation for his dedication.

Before accepting any negative reports about Ned Nwoko or anyone else and forming your own opinion, it’s crucial to conduct thorough fact-checking. This is because such reports may originate from individuals with ill intentions who aim to sow discord.

Senator Ned Nwoko is not dubbed “Dike Anioma” for nothing! His benevolence, doggedness, and commitment to service have earned him that title.

While the desire for development and regular interaction with the senator is understandable, rational reasoning should guide our judgments as well.
