Fire ravages shops in Ibadan, leaving destruction in its wake

A devastating fire engulfed numerous shops at Ire Akari Estate in Soka, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The incident occurred on Monday around 3 pm, creating chaos and anxiety in the neighborhood.

Despite efforts to determine the cause of the inferno, an urgent plea for assistance was posted on social media by @rosheethat, who captured the destructive scene in a video. She implored,

“Ire Akari Soka right now. Anybody that can help us.”

Tragically, the arrival of firefighters came too late, as the shops had already been reduced to ashes. In her update, @rosheethat sorrowfully reported,

“They (firefighters) are here now but nothing left again because everything has been burnt.”

As the community grapples with the aftermath, collaborative endeavors between residents and the fire service persist to contain and prevent the further spread of the devastating blaze.
