ABUJA — The City Boys Movement has appointed the Convener and National Coordinator of the Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YS4A), Dr. Michael Nwoko, as Coordinator for Contact and Mobilisation in the South-South Zone.
The appointment, confirmed by the Director General of the movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, is seen as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate youth engagement across the region ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
Dr. Nwoko, who has been actively involved in youth mobilisation through YS4A, is expected to bring his experience in structured, data-driven political coordination to the role.
Reacting to the development, Dr. Nwoko expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the assignment comes at a time when political mobilisation requires a more deliberate and organised approach.
According to him, “the work ahead requires more than enthusiasm. It requires coordination, discipline, and a clear understanding of how influence must translate into results.”
He stated that his focus has consistently been on building functional structures capable of delivering measurable outcomes, adding that the same approach would guide his engagement in the new role.
Describing the South-South as a critical and politically conscious zone, Nwoko said mobilisation efforts must go beyond surface-level engagement and be rooted in data, structure, and sustained coordination.
“The South-South is a critical zone. It is diverse, politically aware, and requires engagement that is both deliberate and sustained. Mobilisation here cannot be superficial. It must be organised, data-backed, and consistent,” he said.
He added that his immediate priority would be to deepen engagement across the region, strengthen coordination among existing structures, and ensure alignment towards shared political objectives.
Dr. Michael Nwoko further noted that when influence is properly harnessed within an organised framework, outcomes become predictable, stressing his commitment to delivering results in line with the broader mobilisation strategy.
He reaffirmed his readiness to take on the responsibility, stating that his focus remains firmly on the work ahead.
