Former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has submitted his asset declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in accordance with Chapter 6 of the Nigerian constitution. This was confirmed by Garba Shehu, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, who disclosed the information on Saturday.

The CCB issued an acknowledgement receipt after Buhari submitted his forms, indicating that the process was completed.

In a post via his verified Twitter handle, Shehu disclosed the details of the declaration. He revealed that the movable assets of Buhari did not increase over the last four years, both inside and outside the country. Furthermore, Buhari did not add new bank accounts outside the only one he had in Union Bank, Kaduna, nor did he take any loans or have any liabilities.

Additionally, Shehu mentioned that the number of animals in Buhari’s farm recorded a little decrease due to the fact that he gave some out as gifts in the last four years.

The submission of asset declaration forms is a requirement for all public officials in Nigeria, and it is done to promote transparency and accountability in public service.
