JUST IN: Senate confirms members of North East development commission’s governing board, Buhari’s classmate makes the list

The Senate has officially confirmed the appointment of several members to the governing board of the North East Development Commission. Among those confirmed is General Paul Tarfa (North East Adamawa) as the commission’s chairman. The confirmation came after the nominees underwent screening during the Wednesday plenary session.

 

The President had submitted a letter to the Senate President, GodsWill Akpabio, requesting the confirmation of these appointments.

 

The other confirmed nominees are as follows:

 

Hon Gambo Maikyau, Member (North East Taraba)Abdullahi Abbas, Member (North West Kano)Zaf Steven Ondora, Member (North Central Benue)Chief Mutiu Lawal Areh, Member (South West Lagos)Samuel Ifeanyi Onuigbo, Member (South East Abia)Frank Achinike Owo, Member (South South Rivers)Mohamed Goni Alkali, Managing Director (North East Borno)

 

Additionally, the following individuals have been re-appointed to their positions:

 

Musa Yashi, Executive Director of Humanitarian Affairs (North East Bauchi)Ahmed Abdulsalam Yahaya, Executive Director of Operations (North East Gombe)Dr. Abubakar Garba Ileah, Executive Director of Administration and Finance (North East Yobe).
