Tinubu’s alleged intention to appoint Wike as minister sparks outrage

Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections, has leveled a striking accusation against President Bola Tinubu.

According to Shaibu, Tinubu is allegedly planning to reward Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, with a ministerial position in exchange for rigging the presidential election in Tinubu’s favor.

Shaibu strongly asserts that the election results in states like Rivers indicate a serious lack of credibility during the previous presidential election. He points to the data uploaded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the Integrated Result Viewing and Transmission System (IREV) as evidence.

In a strongly worded statement, Shaibu expresses his disappointment with Tinubu’s reported intention to appoint Wike as a minister, despite the pending petition against the former Governor, which has garnered nearly 300,000 votes. Shaibu finds it unfortunate that Tinubu would consider such an appointment, raising concerns about Wike’s character and integrity in relation to the disputed election.

Shaibu also discloses that a petition on change.org has amassed almost 300,000 signatures, urging the imposition of visa bans on Governor Wike. These signatories express their dissatisfaction with the alleged manipulation of the presidential election in Rivers State.

The revelation of Tinubu’s purported plan to appoint Wike as a minister has left many feeling ashamed and incredulous. Critics question the judgment and values of a leader who claimed to have fought for the realization of June 12, referring to Tinubu’s active participation in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.
