Prof. Patrick Egaga, the Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar and a professor in the Department of Special Education, was abducted on Sunday night at the university staff quarters.

The gunmen reportedly seized him from his residence, utilizing a river route connecting Calabar to Akpabuyo Local Government Area.

Although the family did not immediately report the incident, the Cross River Police Command has confirmed the abduction and assured that efforts are underway to secure Prof. Egaga’s release.

The university administration, made aware of the situation on Monday morning, is also actively monitoring the developments.
