The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has incorporated real-life examples involving former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, in their Harmattan Semester examination for the 2021/2022 session.

Specifically, the question was directed towards 300-level students studying Criminology and Security Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Recall that it was reported that Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice, and a medical doctor named Obinna Obetta were convicted and sentenced to prison in the United Kingdom on May 6, 2023, for their involvement in an organ harvesting plot.

The students were prompted to identify the various types of confessions made by the victim, explore the factors that led to the victim making such confessionary statements, and analyze the features of the UK police that facilitated the arrest and prosecution of Ekweremadu.

Additionally, the question paper also included a question relating to Portable’s case with the police. As a reminder, Portable was recently charged by the Nigerian police following his arrest for resisting arrest and causing a disturbance when police officers visited his recreation center.

In response to this case, the students were instructed to discuss four types of criminal profiling, outline the procedures for obtaining individual characteristics, and examine the relationship between an offender’s personality and their job.
