The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of veteran actor Don Brymo Uchegbu. Brymo passed away yesterday after collapsing while filming in Ahoada, Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

According to the AGN, the preliminary investigation began at the hospital where Brymo was taken after collapsing. In a statement signed by the National President, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, the guild expressed their sorrow over Brymo’s demise and emphasized the importance of their members enrolling in the AGN health management (HMO) plans to regularly monitor their health. Vanguard reported.

The statement explains, “The sudden passing of Don Brymo on a film set in Rivers State has brought immense grief to the Actors Guild of Nigeria. We mourn his death and offer our condolences to his immediate family. After gathering reports from the actors on the set, it has been confirmed that he did not collapse on set as widely speculated.”

“While we extend our sympathies to his family, we have initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, starting from the hospital where he was taken. This unfortunate incident underscores the significance of our continuous calls for members to enroll in the AGN health management (HMO) plans, which ensure regular health monitoring.”

“We, along with the entire Guild, are deeply saddened by this tragic event, which could have been potentially avoided with prompt intervention. May Don Brymo’s soul rest in peace, and may God provide comfort to all of us who are mourning his loss. We will keep our members informed of any new information or updates from the family.”
