Cairo Ojuogboh, a former member of the House of Representatives representing the Ika Federal Constituency in Delta State and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.

According to sources close to the family, Ojuogboh tragically passed away on Wednesday night while watching the AFCON 2023 semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.

Reports indicate that Ojuogboh collapsed during the later stages of the game when South Africa was awarded a penalty at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.

Despite his untimely demise, Nigeria secured a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over South Africa, advancing to the final of the AFCON 2023 tournament where they would face the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.

Ojuogboh, who also served as a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), leaves behind a legacy of service and commitment to Nigerian politics and development.
