President Bola Tinubu has expressed the necessity of reviewing the current minimum wage of N30,000 for civil servants in Nigeria. During a speech in Abuja on Friday, June 2, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of both the federal and state governments coming together to reassess the minimum wage and enhance the generation and allocation of the country’s revenue.

President Tinubu assured that his administration remains dedicated to improving the standard of living for Nigerians by implementing economic policies that prioritize the needs of the people. He emphasized the need for careful consideration and evaluation of the minimum wage, alongside a thorough examination of revenue sources and expenditure.

In his own words, President Tinubu stated, “We must engage in a comprehensive evaluation and introspection regarding the minimum wage. It is imperative that we collectively address this matter along with our revenue sources. Strengthening the generation and allocation of our revenue is crucial.”
