Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a former Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant, has come to the defense of Arise Television’s presenter, Rufai Oseni, asserting that critics of this accomplished interviewer often fail to appreciate his talents fully.

According to Onuesoke, “Oseni’s skills as a talk show host are beyond dispute, and his direct approach offers a valuable check on public officeholders, delivering an electrifying viewing experience.”

Onuesoke contended that those who hold negative opinions of Rufai Oseni are typically individuals driven by ego or mediocrity who feel threatened by his brilliance.

He noted that Oseni’s probing questions frequently expose the inadequacies and hypocrisy of his subjects, leading to defensive insults.

Onuesoke commended Oseni for his unwavering commitment to honesty, stating,

“I watch Arise today because of Rufai. He can pose questions that can leave politicians scrambling and unhesitatingly speaks the truth, regardless of the respondent’s status. He is a well-educated journalist who effectively voices the concerns of the people.”

Highlighting Oseni’s qualifications, Onuesoke described him as a young, well-traveled, educated, influential, and informed individual.

“Rufai has been a featured guest speaker at top Ivy League towers including Cambridge University and the University of Sussex, amongst others. Rufai is a toastmaster par excellence. He has moderated panel sessions for various ministries of the Nigerian government and the government of Mauritius.

“He is a passionate teacher and has taught the English Language at the National Open University of Nigeria’s various study centers. He has a network of over 5000 Nigerian students he mentors across Nigerian universities,” Onuesoke disclosed.

Onuesoke emphasized that Rufai Oseni, like any other Nigerian citizen, has the right to voice concerns and ask questions about issues affecting the country. He questioned the justification for criticizing Oseni and asked,

“Is Rufai Oseni not a Nigerian? Did he not shop for everyday goods in the market? Why are people singling him out? If you disagree with his questions, you have the option to ignore them.”

In conclusion, Chief Sunny Onuesoke’s resolute support for Rufai Oseni underscores the presenter’s exceptional interviewing skills and integrity, positioning him as a fearless journalist who fearlessly challenges public figures and amplifies the concerns of the Nigerian population.
