Sao Tome and Principe’s captain, Luis Leal, expressed confidence that they have come to Uyo to defeat the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The True Patriots are playing with pride, having already been eliminated from contention for a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

In their previous qualifiers, they suffered a heavy 10-0 defeat against the Super Eagles. Sao Tome has struggled, conceding 20 goals and scoring just three in five games.

Despite the odds, Leal boldly stated that the True Patriots intend to secure a resounding victory over the Super Eagles in Uyo. The match is scheduled for 5pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday.
