Gunmen struck with impunity as they abducted eight women during a harrowing incident on a farm in Gwombe village, Gwargwada Chiefdom, situated in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This unsettling event unfolded just 48 hours after another abduction, where gunmen targeted the father of the vice chairman of Kwali Area Council of the FCT, along with six others, in Yewuti village.

According to Usman Yakubu, a resident of Gwargwada, the abduction transpired around 5 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023. The victims, all housewives engaged in harvesting benni seed, found themselves surrounded by gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles.

A chief from the chiefdom, choosing to remain anonymous, confirmed the abduction to Daily Trust, expressing concern as four of the abducted women hailed from the same household.

“In fact, four among the women are from one house,” he said.

“I suspect that these gunmen that abducted our women are among those ones that escaped from neighbouring Kabbi village who were roaming inside the bush after Miyetti Allah vigilantes neutralised some of them over the weekend,” he added.
