The Delta State Police Command successfully apprehended a certain Meshack Sinupro, who allegedly deceived car dealer by posing as a potential buyer and ultimately fled with an N55 million Mercedes Benz SUV during a test drive in Abuja.
In an official statement released on Thursday, July 6, 2023, DSP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrest and shed light on Sinupro’s modus operandi, explaining that he specialized in stealing vehicles under the guise of being a genuine buyer.
It was gathered that the suspect was captured in Benin City, Edo State, while the stolen car was discovered in a secluded area along Oteri road, in Ughelli North.
“Sequel to a complaint received on 3/7/2023 at about 1700hours from a car dealer in Abuja whose vehicle was stol£n from his car stand by the suspect who disguised as intending buyer and absconded with the said vehicle during a test drive on 30/6/2023 in Abuja”, DSP Bright stated.
