In a concerning incident, gunmen have abducted Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the embattled Dean of the Law Faculty at the University of Calabar. Prof. Ndifon, who had been suspended due to allegations, including sexual harassment, was taken from his residence in Akpabuyo, Cross River State.

Confirmation of the abduction came from Prof. Ndifon’s son, David Ndifon, who described how the gunmen forcefully entered their home, fired gunshots, and held the family at gunpoint.

“It is true. He was taken away by gunmen. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday. We have been making efforts and calls to ensure his safe return,” David stated.

Previously, Prof. Ndifon had reported an incident where he was followed by masked individuals to a church, leading to an attempted abduction.
