Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and renowned human rights lawyer, has affirmed that Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, recently visited him to seek justice for her deceased husband.
The untimely death of the popular singer occurred on September 12, 2023, shrouded in mystery, with his burial taking place the following day.
In the wake of Mohbad’s passing, there have been fervent calls for a thorough investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his sudden demise.
In a statement to Punch, Falana acknowledged the visit from Mohbad’s wife, during which she sought his assistance in the pursuit of justice for her late spouse.
Additionally, Falana disclosed that he had a meeting with Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, who assured him that a comprehensive investigation into the matter had been initiated.
“The young widow of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, visited our office yesterday (Tuesday) to seek support in her quest for justice for her late husband.
While expressing our condolences to her and the entire Aloba family, we assured her of our unwavering commitment to uncover the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate demise of the Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter.“
Subsequently, we convened a meeting with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, to discuss the ongoing police investigation into the matter. The CP provided me with an update on the progress made so far in the investigation.”
