The Nigerian government has set aside December 25, 26, 2023, and January 1, 2024, as public holidays in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, conveyed this message on Friday. He extended warm wishes to Christians and all Nigerians worldwide.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Christians to mirror the virtues of Jesus Christ, emphasizing humility, service, compassion, and patience. He highlighted that ensuring peace and security is essential for the nation’s growth and prosperity.

Reassuring citizens, the minister stated that the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, remains committed to enhancing security measures. He implored Nigerians to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

In closing, Tunji-Ojo emphasized the significance of maintaining discipline during the festive season, safeguarding both individual and communal well-being.

He also expressed optimism, assuring everyone that 2024 would usher in positive changes under President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
