In a unique and traditional ceremony aimed at bringing good fortune to his community, Victor Hugo Sosa, the Mayor of San Pedro Huamelula town in southern Mexico, exchanged vows with a female reptile named Alicia Adriana. According to AFP’s report on Sunday, the Indigenous Chontal people gathered to witness the event, clapping and dancing as the Mayor carried out the symbolic ritual.
