Bitcoin reached a new milestone on Monday, surpassing $71,000, driven by increasing demand for the cryptocurrency amidst speculation that the Federal Reserve will lower interest rates this year.

According to Bloomberg data, Bitcoin peaked at $71,432 during Asian trading hours, marking a nearly 70 percent surge since the beginning of the year.
