BREAKING: Former Akwa Ibom governor Godswill Akpabio wins senate presidency

Godswill Akpabio, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a candidate for the Senate presidency, has emerged victorious and secured the position of President of the Senate.

Before his election, Akpabio held the position of Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022. He also previously served as the Governor of Akwa Ibom and currently represents the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial zone.
