Chuka Emmanuel, a businessman, has approached the Customary Court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, seeking the dissolution of his marriage due to his wife’s secret remarriage. According to Chuka, his estranged partner, Jane, married another man after leaving their matrimonial home three years ago and relocating to a new neighborhood.
According to CorrectNG, Chuka explained to the court that he has been solely responsible for caring for their three children since Jane’s departure in 2020. Determined to find Jane, Chuka managed to track her down to her new residence, where he made a shocking discovery – she had already married another man and they had a baby together.
In his plea to the court, Chuka expressed his distress, saying, “My wife moved out of our house without informing me. When I eventually located her, I realized she had not only married another man but had also started a family with him. It is on these grounds that I am seeking the dissolution of our marriage.”
Chuka, concerned about the well-being of their children, requested the court’s intervention to prevent Jane from visiting their home in his absence. He earnestly implored the honorable court to dissolve the marriage and grant him custody of their three sons.
The presiding judge, Labaran Gusau, adjourned the matter until June 22, allowing time for further deliberation and examination of the case.
