Accompanied by his wife and supporters, the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, made a significant appearance at the National Assembly today for his ministerial screening.

He is one of the distinguished nominees selected by President Bola Tinubu to be screened by the Senate. Wike’s nomination was part of the initial batch of candidates sent to the Senate by President Tinubu after his victory in the highly contested 2023 presidential election.

As a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike’s selection has drawn considerable attention, seen as recognition for his unwavering support to President Tinubu during the electoral campaign. The screening process is a crucial step in constituting President Tinubu’s cabinet, generating heightened interest among political observers and the public as they await the final list of appointed ministers.
