An unidentified apprentice absconded with a two-month-old baby, named Usman Idris, during a school’s graduation ceremony in Ilorin, Kwara State, on July 29, 2023.

The missing toddler’s mother, Sekina, known as Iya Mujidat, revealed that the suspect was a tall, fair-skinned woman dressed in a purple ankara with a black headscarf, who had requested to learn how to make snacks from her two weeks prior to the incident.

During the graduation, the woman offered to help carry the baby, and since then, she has not been seen.

Sekina reported the case to the ‘B’ Division Police station in Surulere, Ilorin, but hasn’t received any updates. The Kwara Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident and assured that efforts are being made to apprehend the lady and recover the baby.
