In the early hours of Sunday, the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State confirmed a fatal crash involving two vehicles, resulting in the death of five people. One individual sustained injuries, while two others were fortunate to escape unhurt.

According to FRSC’s Route Commander and Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe, the collision occurred due to speed and wrongful overtaking by a Honda car, leading to a side collision with a truck. The injured victim was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu-ode, and the deceased were transferred to the same hospital’s morgue.

FRSC’s Sector Commander, Anthony Uga, deemed the crash avoidable with caution, urging motorists to refrain from making abrupt turns on expressways and to utilize intersections or proper turning points.

Uga expressed condolences to the victims’ families and directed them to contact FRSC Ijebu-ode Command for further information on the tragic incident.
